Kamen Rider Kuuga Novel Spoilers: New Kuuga Revealed

Some people already have a copy of the Kamen Rider Kuuga novel and below are some spoilers about it. The novel is written by Naruhisa Arakawa and was released today, June 28th.

Spoiler alert! Read at your own risk!

Taking place 13 years after the end of the series, the novel is about Ichijou and the police force investigating a mysterious white warrior and the return of the Grongi tribe. Godai is also in the movie and fight as Kuuga for one page. He did a lot more stuff out of suit.

Mika Natsume as seen in the TV series

The novel features the return of Ra-Baruba-De aka Rose-Tattooed Woman and with her are three new Grongis. Fighting them is a the white warrior, a prototype Kuuga. The man behind the mask is Mika Natsume, Jean's former assistant.

Mika uses a prototype Arcle to transform into this new Kuuga. The difference of this belt to the Arcle is that it lack the Amadam, the gem found in the center of the Arcle. Because of this, it is easier for its wearer to go berserk and the previous wearer went crazy and the belt was sealed inside the Coffin of Darkness.

The original Kuuga with the Arcle. Imagine it without the stone in the middle for the image of the prototype Arcle.

Mika's father was of the scientists who discovered the prototype Arcle and has notes about it in his research. Mika finds this 10 years after the end of the show. After sighting a few Grongi, she goes to the ruins and unearth the prototype Arcle and transform into a white Kuuga with red eyes.

She fights an unnamed Grongi in her white form, but it's killed by a different Grongi before she can finish it off. She later fights a Jellyfish Grongi and defeats it with a Rider Kick and is shocked with the explosion she caused. She later fights a Go lion and goes from white to black out of rage.

Kamen Rider Kuuga Growing Form aka a white Kuuga.

The form's eyes flashes between red and black, then completely black when she loses control to it. To put it simply, she is basically Kuuga in appearance with a few minor differences such as she has smaller horns. She uses steel frames and changes them into cannons, she shoots a huge beam out of Tokyo Tower. Godai shows up and stops her. The novel ends with the belt still in her.

Aside from the new Kuuga, there is also the new Beat Chaser 3000, which Godai sticks the Gouram on it while fighting Mika. The police also developed new weapons to fight the Grongi and with it, Ichijou kills one of them. Lastly, the Rose-Tattooed Woman escapes at the end of the novel.

The Kuuga-Agito Connection, A Clarification

Kamen Rider Agito is often seen as an direct sequel to Kamen Rider Kuuga thanks to the basis of the G3 System being Kamen Rider Kuuga. Some sources claim otherwise that Kamen Rider Agito takes place on a parallel universe similar to Kamen Rider Kuuga.

But thanks to Over-Time and Aesir's translator, Magenta and some anon who asked him to translate a text coming from the Kamen Rider Agito production site, we finally have a clarification regarding the Kuuga and Agito connection coming from the show producers.

And I quote:
You're free to enjoy Agito as a continuation of Kuuga if you so wish, or imagine it takes place in a parallel world, if you so choose. I appreciate this may sound like an asspull, however, so I guess I would say that while Agito takes place '2 years after #4 destroys the Unidentified Lifeforms', it is not a sequel to Kuuga, so take to the show with that in mind.

The reason why the producers want us to think Kamen Rider Agito as an independent story, it is because, "Yusuke Godai fought so hard to put smiles on everyone's faces that if another conflict were to break out afterwards, it would diminish the value of everything he fought for."

Thus the Kamen Rider Agito staff want Kamen Rider Kuuga to be a standalone, conclusive story in which at the end, Yusuke Godai protected our smiles. And with that in mind, I salute the Kamen Rider Agito production team.

Joe Odagiri Likes His Role as Kamen Rider Kuuga

There is an old rumor going around that Joe Odagiri doesn't want to be remembered as Kamen Rider Kuuga. In my recent lurk in 4chan's /m/ board, there is a post that compiles facts that Odagiri likes his role as Kuuga.

Odagiri is still extremly close with the staff and cast of Kamen Rider Kuuga that he even went to the wedding of Wakana Aoi, who played Midori, his on-screen little sister in the show and made a speech. He was also on board to do a Kuuga movie years after the show ended.

It is said that he is willing to do anything for Kamen Rider Kuuga Producer Shigenori Takatera. A good example is his cameo appearance in Daimajin Kanon as Fuuga. Coming from the same producer, the rumor about Odagiri trying to forget his past as a Kamen Rider is complete BS.

He was once asked on Bakusho Mondai why they erased Kuuga from his acting history on his profile to which Odagiri replied, "It's not erased. Don't say such unpleasant things like that!" He also attended a 2008 Kamen Rider Kuuga cast and crew reunion.

Lastly, most of the bad things Odagiri said about tokusatsu were mostly before Kuuga. It is said that there is a video taken last year that he talked about Rider in a press conference for a movie.

Special thanks to 4chan's /m/ board for compiling all of these info.
