Porting Final Fantasy VII in the iOS & Android is Not Possible Now

We reported last week that according to Square Enix director and producer Takashi Tokita it is possible for Final Fantasy VII to have a port for the smartphones in the future.

But don't get your hopes up since for now, porting this classic PSOne game is not possible. According to Tokita in his recent interview with Shacknews that due to memory limitations, it is not yet possible to play FFVII in your smartphone.

He said, "currently, space will be an issue. Phones won't be won't be able to contain the space it takes. It's over a gigabyte. People are probably going to have to wait a few years."

Currently, there's a 2GB limit on iOS games and the recent FFVII PC release is 3GB, a gigabyte higher than the iOs limit.

Unofficial Live-Action Final Fantasy VII Web Series Kickstarter Campaign Launched

Shinra Productions LLC, the group responsible to the short live-action Final Fantasy VII video last year opened a Kickstarter project to create an unofficial live-action Final Fantasy VII web series!

The project called "Final Fantasy VII: The Web Series" is a project that is planned to have at least 5-6 episodes for its first season. Each episode is 15 minutes long.

For them to start working on this project, their goal is to raise a total of $400,000. Before you start raising your eyebrows on why they need such amount, aside from the incentives in every pledge you made, the crew responsible for this project are professionals who worked on movies such as Harry Potter and Kick-Ass.

Lastly, Square Enix is aware of this project and the group manage to get the rights for the game's music. Sadly, there is no word if Square Enix will endorse the said project.

Veteran Swordsmith Forges Life-Size Buster Sword Replica

In the latest episode of Man at Arms, veteran swordsmith and propsmaster Tony Swatton forges a life-size replica the iconic Final Fantasy VII weapon, the Buster Sword. Originally owned by Angeal Hewley, it later became Cloud Strife's signature weapon.

Weighing 75-80 pounds (around 35-26 kg) and is 6 ft. long, this life size replica of the Buster Sword is probably, one of the hardest weapons that Mr. Swatton created. Aside from the Buster Sword, he also created another "iconic" Square-Enix weapon, Sora's Keyblade from Kingdom Hearts.
