2014 Live-Action Rurouni Kenshin Movies Additional Cast Members Revealed

The official live-action Rurouni Kenshin Twitter account and Cinema Today revealed the additional cast members of the upcoming Rurouni Kenshin live-action movie sequels.

Kaito Oyagi (Abacus and Sword) will replace Taketo Tanaka for the role of Yahiko Myojin in the sequel. Since the movie will feature Shishio's gang, two more characters from his gang are confirmed to appear in the movie.

Ryosuke Miura (Kamen Rider OOO) will play the role of Cho Sawagejo. Maryjun Takahashi (Fashion Story - Model) will play the role of Shishio's lover, Yumi Komagata. It was previously reported that Ryunosuke Kamiki (Howl's Moving Castle) will play the role of Sojiro Seta, Makoto Shishio's (played by Tatsuya Fujiwara) right-hand man in the movie.

Min Tanaka (The Twilight Samurai) will play the role of former Oniwabanshū leader Nenji "Okina" Kashiwazaki. His successor, Aoshi Shinomori will be played by Yusuke Iseya (Ashita no Joe).

Lastly, two Japanese historical figures will also appear in the upcoming movies. THE BOOM's Kazufumi Miyazawa will play the role of Okubo Toshimichi, a statesman and one of the three great nobles who led the Meiji Restoration.

Yukinoshi Ozawa (Hayabusa: The Long Voyage Home) will play the role of Japan's first Prime Minister, Ito Hirobumi. Unlike Okubo, he didn't appear in the original manga or anime series, making him a movie-exclusive character.

The two upcoming Rurouni Kenshin films based on the Kyoto Arc entitled "Rurouni Kenshin: The Great Kyoto Fire Arc" and "Rurouni Kenshin: The End of a Legend Arc" are both slated to have summer 2014 release.
