Souta Fukushi Joins "Library Wars" Movie Cast!


After his role as Gentaro Kisaragi aka Kamen Rider Fourze, Souta Fukushi joins the cast of the movie adaptation of Library Wars that stars V6's Junichi Okada and actress Nana Eikura (Mei-chan no Shitsuji)!

Also joining the cast are Chiaki Kuriyama (Kill Bill: Vol. 1, Battle Royale), Kei Tanaka (Gokusen, Hana Yori Dango 2), Koji Ishizaka (Rich Man, Poor Man), Jun Hashimoto (The King of Fighters '94) and Naomi Nishida (Densha Otoko).

Library Wars is a popular novel series by Hiro Akikawa that is set in a future Japan where the government is trying to restrict freedom of expression by censoring "harmful" media and a paramilitary organization known as the Library Defense Force has taken on the task of defending libraries against government censorship.

In the movie, Atsushi Dojo (Okada) is a member of the Library Defense Force along with Iku Kasahara (Eikura), a new recruit in the Defense Force. Kuriyama plays Kasahara's roommate and friend, Asako Shibasaki. While Fukushi and Tanaka are playing Hikaru Tezuka and Mikihisa Komaki respectively who are also members of the Defense Force. Ishizaka and Hashimoto are playing captains within the force, while Nishida will play a reporter.

Library Wars is directed by Shinsuke Sato (GANTZ) and is set to be released in Japan on April 27, 2013.
