Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger 35 – Holy Crap! Gigant Kyoryuzin

Them logos. That pose.

Now that Bragigas is alive and kicking, it is time for Deboth to execute their plan. Thanks to Guardma's curse on Bragigas, the melody of the dino spirits is disrupted, causing our not to tap the full potential of their powers. It didn't help that Cyan and Grey are missing and Yayoi and Torin are stuck inside Bragigas! Can our brave heroes defeat Guarda's curse?

This episode feels like it should be a two-parter episode, since for starters, the tone of the episode in its first half shows us the fall of our heroes thanks to Chaos' trap and second is that the previous episode marked the debut of Gigant Bragioh and having two mecha formations debut back to back feels like the viewers weren't given enough time to appreciate the new Gigant Bragioh. But even if that is the case, this is one solid episode and showed us that our heroes are not alone in their fight against the Deboth Legion.

But before talking about the other heroes of this episode, which is not the Kyoryugers, the episode started with re-establishing the fact that the Spirit Base is inside Bragigas and what the earlier minutes of the episode did is to show us that. Now that the entry to the new Spirit Base has been set, it's time to start the plot of this episode. Guardma's curse is one brilliant plan; it's brilliant because it feels like Chaos already planned this just in case they failed in reviving the Lost Stones. What's best about it is its effect to the powers of our heroes.

As for the curse's effects, it really puts our heroes at their very weakest. With no access to the dino spirits, it's just our heroes just wearing some spandex armor with some weapons and not the strongest and bravest team that they claim to be. Seeing them getting beaten up by an enemy who was defeated during the time that the Voltasaurs can't combine and form various mecha combinations is indeed, one horrible sight to see. Even if that is the case, our heroes and their partner robot dinosaurs continue to fight the enemy and for me, is one of the best parts of the episode. We see our heroes struggle in one fight that they will obviously lose, but they never gave up, they pressed on until they have no strength to fight. Even if they barely have any powers, they are still the strongest and bravest heroes in history.

But if there is one thing that caught me off guard in this episode is the civilian involvement. The episode showed us that our heroes are not alone in this fight and will do everything in their power to at least help them. The scenes featuring the civilians confirmed that Nossan's sister is already aware of her brother's double life and showed us that the kids of the week matured a bit thanks to the Kyoryugers. It is thanks to them that they continue their fight and transform into the Kyoryugers. To make this scene extra special, the civilians are cheering while the giant fight is happening!

The cheering scene emphasized the fact that our heroes are not alone in this one. This is also one of those scenes that make me smile because it has this feeling that even in hard times; humanity can stand up and continue to work together as one. It is thanks to them that our heroes overcome this challenge of losing their connection to the dino spirits and at the same time, the ones who are inside Bragigas also managed to re-establish the connection.

Now that Bragigas is back in action, it is time to form Gigant Bragioh! Unlike last episode's Gigant Bragioh transformation, what is great about this scene are the civilians who are chanting the mecha's transformation chant. It's one amazing scene and it sends some chills while watching it. Same thing happened when they formed the Gigant Kyoryuzin. The chanting made this formation's debut really epic. As for the mecha formation itself, for the team's ultimate mecha, it looks really organized and has this feeling that this is the five-piece team mecha that I want to see since day one.

As for its moves, it looks really great and the breast fire finishing move is really cool. After our heroes defeated Guardma, it seems that it is time for them to cheer that is until Torin sensed the presence of a new enemy. This new enemy is the Torin we saw earlier in this episode. What's worse, he defeated Cyan and Grey! But the bigger question is who is this other Torin and how he managed to exist?
