Nintendo announced in today's Nintendo Direct that they are developing a new The Legend of Zelda game for the Wii U alongside with Koei, the developers of the Dynasty Warriors franchise.
Tentatively called "Hyrule Warriors" internationally (or Zelda Musou in Japan), this game combines Dynasty Warriors' style of gameplay with The Legend of Zelda's rich mythology. Nintendo's Satoru Iwata clarified that this is not the promised Zelda U game, but a spin-off of the long-running Zelda franchise.
Hyrule Warriors is set for a 2014 release for the Nintendo Wii U.
