Director Hayao Miyazaki Retires in Making Feature Films


It is announced in a press conference in this year's Venice Film Festival that director director Hayao Miyazaki will retire from making feature films. He is best known as one of the founders of Studio Ghibli.

Even if he will retire from making any feature films, there is still a possibility of him working on shorter projects and other endeavors. His latest feature film is The Wind Rises, which is nominated in the said film festival.

For those people who are living under the rock, he directed the following films: Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro, NausicaƤ of the Valley of the Wind, My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, and many more.
