JoJo's Bizarre Adventure 15 – Before You Go Go

Ballin'

Caesar can't control his anger and attacks Wham. Is his power enough to defeat someone that is said to be the weakest of the three Pillar Men? Later, Joseph shows his new skill! What is this new skill and is it enough to defeat the newly awakened Pillar Men?

In terms of fights, this is probably one of the best episodes. Caesar trying his best to defeat Wham is quite admirable but his strength is not enough to defeat Wham. I mean seriously, the guy basically mocked Caesar's skill with the Ripple for crying out loud! That alone is enough to assess that Caesar is not strong enough to even scar Wham's face. Heck, it is Caesar's face that received quite a beating! To add the injury, Wham didn't lay a finger on Caesar, he just whips the chains in his head gear and that's it. That's about it; his ability to whip his head back and forth is enough injure Caesar!

Now that Caesar is down and that the Pillar Men are about to leave, Joseph interrupts them. Since this is Joseph we are talking about, he did a couple of snarky comments before showing us his "special" weapon, the American Clacker Balls! To begin with, instead of impressing us with his skill with these balls, we only saw how unprepared he is with the use of his weapon that even the Pillar Men mocked him about how humans devolved! As for Caesar and Speedwagon, they look worried that Joseph can't do it.

So did Joseph have a chance to even damage Wham? Much to my surprise, he did damage to Wham after countless attempts with the use of the Clacker Balls. But before that, I can't help but notice how inefficient the Clacker Balls are as weapons, especially if you are fighting an enemy so flexible like Wham. Though the sight of Joseph being owned by Wham is a sad sight to see, the way how it is animated made the scene worth watching.

Because he damaged the great Wham's face, he must face the consequence. This is when we saw Wham's secret move, the Holy Sandstorm! The move is basically Wham twisting his arms to create one strong tornado with it. It's kinda scary in a sense that an average human being might not able to survive in that move. But thanks to Joseph's inborn Ripple abilities, he survived the attack. Now comes the fun part of this episode, Joseph pretending to be dead so that he can escape from Wham! This is one of the reasons why I like Joseph; he knows when to retreat but does retreating make him less of a hero? The answer is no, he just knows that this is not the perfect time to defeat Wham and running away is best option right now.

Since this move is quite cowardly, Caesar and Speedwagon is disappointed with it. But after Joseph entered the cart and Wham discovering his planned escape, Caesar finally discovered that Joseph is planning something. This again, is one of the reasons why I like Joseph, he has a backup plan. In this case, luring Wham in the cart so that Caesar and Speedwagon will have the chance to escape is something I see him will come do. I mean seriously, if there is one thing that I learned from the past episodes is that Joseph cares so much about his Uncle Speedwagon.

Now that he lured Wham to his trap, it is time to pull another trick to defeat him... only for it to be discovered by Wham. This scene made me realize that Wham is the perfect rival for Joseph. He is witty and later, we learned that he is Joseph's complete opposite. He is a fighter with a high sense of pride, while as for Joseph; he is a fighter who is willing to do dirty tactics just as long as he will win at the end. What's more, Joseph only enters fights that he can surely win.

In the case of this episode, Joseph pulls a gamble that I am not sure if he can do it. After minutes of teasing Wham to kill him, he finally tells his biggest bluff that will change his life forever. For one month, he will train so that he can beat Wham. Much to my surprise, Wham took the gamble because he becomes more interested in Joseph as a fighter. I mean, he is the only guy who defeated a Pillar Man and that he did injured damage on Wham's face!

Because he made this gamble with Joseph, he decides to do something in his body. He inserted an item called the Wedding Ring of Death in his artery, which will release a poison that will dissolve in his body for over a month. In short, if he wants to live, he must defeat Wham to get the antidote found in his piercing. To make matters worse for Joseph, ACDC decides to make his highway to hell a bit more interesting by inserting another Wedding Ring of Death in his throat. Aside that he is now "married" to two guys; Joseph only has more than a month to live. Because of Joseph's rather "brave" gamble, Caesar decides to train with him. This my friends, begins a new chapter of the friendship between Joseph and Caesar.
