Here comes the bride.
Escape is becoming more concerned about the Messiah Cards and decides to help Messiah in her own way by finding one of his cards and put it into good news. This is when she meets the Tiararoid whose ability is to remove the love from someone! Can the Go-Busters stop the Tiararoid before all couples separate? On the other hand, Yoko is invited to the wedding of her teacher who happens to be her first crush!
Reading the summary for this episode, I was really expecting that this is just your average Sentai fake wedding episode but nope, it is quite impressive in its own right. The Metaroid plot reminded me a bit of one episode of Jetman since the Vacuum Jigen has the ability to suck out the love from someone and in the case of this episode, we have the Tiararoid whose ability is to suck out the love of the bride by throwing a tiara on the bride like a boomerang and receive the love data coming from the bride. Yes, the Tiararoid is collecting data about love, which I find bit relevant if you want to raise a killing machine.
One thing I notice in this episode is Escape's concern about Messiah, unlike Enter who thinks that raising Messiah by collecting human data is just a game; Escape is the only one who has this genuine concern on Messiah. Considering that she is an avatar, I expect that she was programmed to be loyal to Messiah but seeing her actions in this episode, it seems that those feelings of loyalty evolve into something greater, something that you can consider in human terms as love, love of someone's own parent.
Seeing Escape defend the Tiararoid from Enter who plans to shut her down since data about love is something that he finds irrelevant (even if the said love is one of the reasons why the Go-Busters are willing to plunge to hyperspace to save their parents), we saw how much Escape loves Messiah. But prior to that, we saw her install some data on her own body that the Tiararoid gathered. One thing I notice about Escape's face off with Enter is that we saw bits of Escape's evolution thanks to the Tiararoid's data. I will expand on to it later in this review.
Now to Yoko in this episode, we learn that she actually has a crush on her own teacher and that the three old men not named Masato Jin, namely, Ryuji, Kuroki and Usada are really concerned about her! Seeing that these three panicked that Yoko actually had a crush, I can't help but laugh on the fact that these three tend to overreact and to be overprotective on their little girl. Seriously, these three are worse than your average overprotective father. That is why I can't help but laugh during the fake wedding scene in this episode.
For starters, when Ryuji first met Yoko's former teacher, the first thing he did is to shake (?) his hand really tight and thankfully, his arm is still okay after the handshake! Second is that Kuroki played the role of Yoko's father and I can't help but notice how he glared at the teacher! As for Usada, thankfully he is stuck in the base so he has no choice but show his disappointment that Yoko is part of some fake wedding plot in the base! Even if these three old men are seriously overprotective for their little Yoko, at least the rest of the Special Ops team don't mind if Yoko falls in love on someone since it shows that she is growing as a person and that she is actually... normal.
As for the wedding scene, I find it really funny that they keep on repeating the wedding scene a couple of times just to attract a single target! This made me conclude that the Tiararoid actually detect the "love" of a couple who is about to get married. This is when we saw Escape appear in a black wedding dress and fight the Go-Busters. One thing that I like about the scene is how Escape made her entrance in this episode; she walks down the aisle while black rose petals are falling while she makes her entrance. What's more, the best thing about the scene is that Escape pulls out her guns from the bouquet that she is holding and starts shooting the Go-Busters.
Escape's fight with the Go-Busters is really impressive that it reminded me the first time she made her debut in the series. Same goes with the Tiararoid's fight in this episode even though all she did is shoot some laser and do some really neat fight stunts. This is during this fight we saw Escape's upgrade that she did by installing some data coming from the data gathered by the Tiararoid. Escape's robotic monster form felt like it was made for the sake of selling more toys and that if they want to have Escape in a future Sentai appearance if her actress Ayame Misaki is busy or if they want a stand in for a Go-Busters main villain in a possible crossover movie.
But even those are the possible explanations, the reasons why Escape has a new form is properly explained in the series so I have nothing to complain about. In addition to that, the new robotic monster form is really cool and that her new abilities are fun to watch since what she did is to sling her guns that I find really cool. Her fight with Yellow Buster in this episode is also fun to watch since it seems like Yellow is starting to understand the true meaning of love from someone else's perspective. While Yellow Buster is busy with Escape, Blue, Beet and Stag are busy with the Tiararoid and we saw more of Blue's Gorillarge Punch that beat the Tiararoid. Speaking of finishers, we saw a variation of Yellow's Rabbit Kick that is kinda looked like a spinning drill kick, which I say is really impressive.
Now to the mecha battle in this episode, while everyone is busy fighting, Go-Buster Ace who is riding the Tategami Li-Oh in bike mode. To put it simply, the mecha fight in this episode made my jaw drop due to the amount of manual effects used. To start, the Go-Buster Ace is actually riding a lion bike and second is that the Beta-type Megazord in this episode who has the ability to fly is not CGI and it feels like they actually used either those remote control models or an actual suit actor who is carried by a crane.
What's more, the Go-Buster Ace did a lot of great bike stunts in this episode while the machine is busy shooting some small enemy tiara crafts created by the Beta-type Megazord! The episode also featured the other function of the Tategami Li-Oh's laser gun that is attached on its mouth, which served as the Ace's gun when it shoots the enemy tiara planes. The finisher involving this formation called the "Li-Oh Burst" is really great since it's just the Ace shooting some shots with the gun it got from the Li-Oh and finally, the Li-Oh finishing it with a strong energy beam coming from its mouth.
The episode ends with Yoko getting the bouquet from the actual wedding of her teacher and saw that she is starting to mature as a person thanks to Escape's love for her Papa Messiah. Guess our little girl is slowly becoming a woman each day.
