How Robot Rights Began.
The Buddyroids, less Nick and J are jealous with the new Tategami Li-Oh since their partners are too engrossed with it along with its control module the Li-Oh Attache. Thanks to J's suggestion, the Buddyroids are on strike! Can the Go-Busters stop the Bulldozerroid while the Buddyroids are on strike?
The episode also marked Escape's return in the battlefield and even though her fights in this episode are really great, it feels like she prolonged her stay since she can't offer something new in the battlefield. In short, unlike Enter who is making quite a progress with his data gathering, she feels a bit static as a character. Since she feels a bit static, during her second encounter with Blue Buster later in the episode, she is easily beaten by Blue Buster's Gorrilarge Punch. Blue's finisher finally gave me a clearer look on the respective finishers of each Powered Custom form, which I get into later.
To sum up the entire episode, even though the title states that "hey guys, today is the debut of the Go-Buster Li-Oh so buy this new toy" kind of deals, it is more of a Buddyroid focus episode and their jealously towards the Li-Oh and less on how awesome the Go-Buster Li-Oh is that I will get into later in this episode. From the three main Buddyroids, Usada acted more as the dominating figurehead in this episode. Gorisaki is just being a pushover like always and Nick is being "oh boy, why I am stuck with these idiots" kind of expression.
J, who is considered by Nick as the "wildcard" in the bunch did what he did best that is being J since just tell his fellow Buddyroids to go on a strike, something that Nick didn't predict that will happen since the guy is so much of an egoist. The strike scene itself is easily laughable since just like the guys in the command center, the strike felt a bit pointless since hey, these guys are machines and they can just reboot them just in case they will go amok or something!
While they are on strike, the Bulldozerroid begins its data gathering procedure by destroying buildings since hey, it is a bulldozer robot and the closest thing an actual bulldozer can do aside from carry rocks is to destroy stuff! For starters, I don't see the point on why Enter will need this kind of data since all of the Megazords for the past 35 episodes did wrecking in the city. But considering the random nature of these Messiah Cards, I guess Enter didn't expect that he will gather data about the structure of an average Japanese building. Speaking of said Enter, he only appeared briefly in this episode much to my disappointment.
Because of the strike, the Go-Busters can't transform into their Powered Custom forms, giving us a better look on this power-up system. Unlike what I thought that the transport happens once the Buddyroids still exist, as it turns out, the Buddyroids should be in-synch with the system or in simpler terms, if they are willing to take part with the Powered Custom armor. Much to my surprise, Nick didn't decide to help Hiromu since even though he was just dragged into this mess; he is dedicated to support his fellow Buddyroids in this strike, unlike J.
The strike ended thanks to the same thing that they were jealous at, the Tategami Li-Oh's Li-Oh Attache made Usada and Gorisaki realize how important is their partner to their lives, especially how it pointed out that Ryuji is about to overheat and Yoko is about to run out of energy. The Buddyroids rushed to the scene to save their partners and saw Nick's good ol' machine gun that they keep on forgetting that it actually existed. This reminds me even though Nick is not designed for battle, he can at least fight a bit. Granted Gorisaki has those arms, but he is too much of a worrywart to land a single punch.
The Go-Busters transformed into their Powered Custom forms and Blue Buster fights Escape while the other four fight the Bulldozerroid. This is when I noticed the special attacks of each Buster in their Powered Custom forms. Red's Volcanick Attack involves the speed of the cheetah hence the cheetah Animal Mode thing, Blue's Gorillarge Punch is basically a giant gorilla fist and since gorillas has something to do with large arms, they just went with it. Lastly, Yellow's Rabbit Kick simply integrates a rabbit's high jumps and strong kicking power.
Since the Buddyroids also brought the Li-Oh Attache, we also saw one of its alternate modes, the Li-Oh Blaster, which is basically a giant gun. The first thing I noticed with it aside on how cool this new blaster is, it would be the use of stock footage for the finisher shots of this weapon. Granted it is nothing new in the Super Sentai franchise but I am starting to notice that they started to use a lot of stock footage quite lately in some mecha formation shots and the like.
Now for what the episode title says it is, the debut of the Go-Buster Li-Oh, so what better way to introduce a new robot, by pitting it with the strongest Megazord that is not Epsilon! Yep, the Delta Megazord series also has some upgrades as they can directly transport one now with the qualities of the Metaroid. Speaking of which, now that the engineers are gone, who is in-charge in maintaining and creating the new Megazords that is being transported in our dimension?
Go-Buster Li-Oh's debut is really impressive and unlike the Go-BusterOh, they don't need any practice in timing the automatic Megazord formation sequence. Considering that they are doing this for at least 30 episodes now, guess they are now used to timing their machines in doing a Megazord formation. Not surprisingly, it easily trashed the Delta-type Megazord and went straight with the finisher after a few slashes with the Boost Buster Sword! The "Ignition Tornado" finisher move is basically a lion chest blaster or if I will go with good ol' Ichirou Mizuki's terms a "BURESTO FAIYA!!!!"
The episode ends with Nick realizing that he is left out in the formation and that J denying that he is the one responsible for the Buddyroid strike! Some final words before the episode ends, the existence of the Li-Oh Attache also caused the support crew to notice that they are slowly losing their usefulness since the Li-Oh Attache does most of the initial work for them. Guess this is not surprising since the Li-Oh Attache is more than just a control panel but it also acts as an energy detector, a blaster, an Ichirou Mizuki projector and if you buy the toy version, it has games installed in it!
