Bakuman S3 06 – Super Leader's Love Fest

With the upcoming Super Leader's Fest, Mashiro decides to do the story so that Takagi can focus on PCP and Rabuta. Mashiro decided to make a love story since his only special interest is Azuki. Same goes with the other authors and to make things interesting, all the works are ranked and all of them planned to make a love story! Can Ashirogi lead the rankings in Super Leader's Love Fest while Takagi is busy with both PCP and Rabuta?

Mashiro's planned love story is basically a manga form of his and Azuki's love story since both started with love at first sight with some minor changes. Instead of meeting their eyes for the first time in a swimming pool, it's during their one of their classes in high school. You know the traditional high school love story setup! Though Hattori and Takagi find it interesting, I find it a bit overused since they didn't expand the opening scene into something more than just your traditional high school manga love story.

While Mashiro is busy with the one-shot, Takagi is busy with Rabuta and learned that sometimes his strength will not work on some other title. In this case, his strength in using characterization made Peace sound less of a dog and more human, which is bad since the series is about a boy and his dog. Takagi decides to rewrite the chapter from scratch and I admire Takagi for that. He admits his mistake and decided to rewrite it to properly convey the feeling that Peace is a dog and Rabuta is the star of the said series.

Because Takagi is having a hard time writing Rabuta, he decided to have a walk with Peace and learn more about dog behavior. For starters, it's fine for an author to have some inspiration from some outside source (the dog) but going a bit too far by staying on Shiratori's house for a week?! This is more than just an author trying to find an inspiration!

While Takagi is busy in Shiratori's house, Hiramaru is done with Otter 11, he finally submitted his storyboard for the one-shot and it same goes with the other authors. To sum it all up, all authors are busy with their stories while some of them are having some problems like the case with Akina since she hated the character design that Miura gave her and Fukuda is having trouble in writing a story since he doesn't have any experience about love.

As for Ashirogi, he finally discovers his limit that he sucks in writing dialogue after his first storyboard for the one-shot is rejected by Hattori. After a week, Takagi returns to the studio and learned that the week he stayed in Shiratori's home is to train him to be independent! Takagi has a point that Rabuta is Shiratori's story and he is the one who knows this story better. Now that he is done with Shiratori, they have more time to concentrate with the one-shot! Much to my disappointment, they never showed some scenes from the one-shots and I am not happy with it. I mean, they can just make this story into two episodes to cover the one-shots of each author!
