Madhouse's Btooom! Anime First Promo

The first promotion video for the anime adaptation of Junya Inoue's combat-game-turned-reality seinen manga series, “BTOOOM!”. The animation is handled by anime studio Madhouse.

Kotono Watanabe (Puella Magi Madoka Magica) will be directing the anime, with Kousuke Kuroda (Hellsing Ultimate, Highschool of the Dead) as the writer.


The promo confirms that Nano will be singing the opening theme “No Pain, No game,” while May'n is contributing “Aozora” (Blue Skies), the anime's ending theme song.

The confirmed cast are as follows:

• Kanata Hongou as Ryuuta Sakamoto
• Suzuko Mimori as Himiko
• Toru Ohkawa as Taira
• Miyuki Sawashiro as Kousuke Kira
• Yuuichi Nakamura as Oda

22-year-old Ryuuta Sakamoto is a top ranked player in BTOOOM!, an online RPG. One day, he was surprised that he was transported into a tropical island. He calls out for help, but the stranger responds by throwing a "BIM" bomb at him! Now Ryuuta realizes both that his life is in danger and that he has somehow been trapped in a real-life version of his favorite game!
