Detective Conan, Crayon Shin-Chan Anime Uploaders Arrested

After the arrest made on One Piece manga uploaders, two men were recently arrested by the police for the suspicion of uploading Detective Conan manga, and Crayon Shin-Chan anime film via Share file-sharing software.

Detective Conan Volume 74Last July 25th, the Tottori Prefectural Police arrested Hideo Yoshida, a 46-year-old male company employee in Tokyo's Itabashi Ward, under suspicion uploading the Detective Conan Vol.74 manga without the permission of the copyright holder, using the Share file-sharing software between May 3rd to 8th.

According to the authorities, the man is suspected to have been uploaded a total of 1,800 manga volumes without the permission of copyright owners in the past months. His reason: because of his love of manga.

In a different case on the same day, Ishikawa Prefectural Police and the Kanazawa West Police Department arrested a 28-year-old male company employee in Wajima, Ishikawa under suspicion of uploading the Crayon Shin-chan: Arashi o Yobu! YĆ«hi no Kasukabe Boys anime film via the same file-sharing software, without the permission of its copyright owner on April 11th.

The man had admitted his guilt, and said that he had used the said software to upload approximately 200 episodes of anime, downloaded via the Winny service.
