Chrono Trigger is one of those classic SNES games that deserve a remake and the closest thing we have is this HD intro remake created by rickonami!

Granted he still used 2D sprites with some CGI models for the background and some parts of the intro but overall, it's a nice attempt to bring new life to a classic SNES game.

Ultraman Ginga 02 – Hikaru and Misuzu

 Those lights man.

Thanks to Taro, Hikaru and Misuzu can't tell their friends that Hikaru is Ultraman Ginga and other stuff related to it, such as the monsters that attacked their town days ago. Later, thanks to some mad biker, Misuzu realized how weak she is and that she is useless when it comes to helping Hikaru.

The episode focused on developing the relationship between Hikaru and Misuzu and they did a good job about it. Aside from the hints that these two want to be more than just friends, we also saw that Misuzu also has her own fears. Her fear is that she will just be a burden to Hikaru who keeps on saving her every time she is in trouble. She realized that she will just be a burden thanks to the evil biker in this episode, who will eventually end up becoming the host of the MOTW thanks to the Dark Spark.

The plot about Misuzu's fears is what makes this episode kinda mediocre. They handled it so bad that I don't care about it. Heck, I rather watch the evil biker chase her all day long than see her monologue about her fears! More on the chase scene, I can't help but notice the dark tinting of this scene, it looks like they shot this scene during day time and then added the tinting during the editing process. I know, this is because of the budget issues but I just can't help notice how badly tinted this scene is. Oh well, at least the classroom chase scene is convincingly shot at night.

The resolution of Misuzu's problem is really underwhelming since I already predicted it that it will happen that way. Oh well, at least that scene added the fuel for fans who ship her with Hikaru. Anyway, the monster battle in this episode is really creative. Aside from how Hikaru used Thunder Darambia in battle, the quirky movements of the MOTW made the fight really interesting. It is also during this time that I can't help but notice that Hikaru becoming an Ultraman felt like he is more of a traditional henshin hero and not an Ultraman.

Before any violent reactions, here's the feeling I have while watching Ultraman. Ultraman and his human host felt like they are two separate entities. In Ginga's case, it feels more like Ginga is Hikaru's transformed form and not a separate entity like most Ultramen are. Granted that kind of concept is similar to Mebius but at least the show still tried to convince us that Mirai and Mebius are two different entities. I guess the fact that Mebius only does grunt noises added us the masking of the two personas. Just like last time, Ginga's entrance is really awesome. What's more is that the lights in the suit look really fantastic at night.

The fight scene is seriously awesome and that the scene wherein Hikaru asks the MOTW while he likes to torment people is quite a weird scene for an Ultraman show. I know I see this scene in other tokusatsu shows but I find it weird watching a psychopath talk to an Ultraman on why he likes to torment people. Oh well, at least this scene lead us to Ginga's new finishing move! The new finishing move, which features Ginga flying outside of the planet after pushing the MOTW outside the Earth's atmosphere, is really great. The space scene looks really well done, add the fact that the new finisher is basically Ginga summoning fireballs and hurl it towards the opponent is really one cool way to wrap up the fight.

At the end, the day is saved and that Hikaru continues to share his fine moments as Ginga with Misuzu. While they are doing it, a strange figure in the form of Ichijouji, the silent transfer student is watching over them. Since he is the mysterious transfer student archetype and that he is really interested at Hikaru, I guess it is safe to assume that he will do something important in the series later on.

Kamen Rider Wizard 42 – The Novelist's Hope

Also more Koyomi.

Koyomi is taking in more mana unlike before and that Kousuke is more dedicated to look for the mysterious White Wizard. Meanwhile, a popular novelist is the Gate of this arc and if the cameras and how the episode is directed, it seems that he is related to Koyomi in a way.

Continuing what was left in the previous episode, the case about the missing Agent Kizaki is brought up but it's not the main focus of this episode. But that's not the main focus of the episode; the main focus is about the novelist. The novelist is one hard headed Gate whose goal is to look for the girl that gave him hope to continue on writing. What's interesting is that after the Gate's flashback scene, or any scene related to the novelist, most of the time, the next scene has something to do with Koyomi. Because of this, I have this impression that Koyomi will play an important role later in the episode.

More on the Koyomi scenes, it's about Koyomi becoming worried that she is taking in too much mana unlike before. If there is one thing that I am bothered with it is that there is no explanation on why Koyomi is taking in more mana compared from before. I mean, if she is just an average doll, I think her body can only contain a limited amount of mana and if she takes in too much of it, it will destroy her body. But that's not Koyomi's case; she is taking in more mana as time passes by. Because of this, I am starting to think that her need for more mana in later episodes might be related to her connection with the White Wizard.

As for Kousuke's search for the White Wizard, he is basically clueless and asked Mayu if she has any ideas about his whereabouts. The only thing he got is that she is not aware where she was trained by the White Wizard. In short, she just teleported back in our realm after her training ended. Things start to become more interesting thanks to Sora. It becomes interesting because he said that he knows where the White Wizard is hiding. Considering that he is quite informative, I guess it is possible that he knows where he is hiding. Sadly, the revelation on where is this place will be revealed in the next episode.

Aside that the plot is finally moving in a really good pace, the action in this episode is surprisingly brilliant. The form switching and the use of the Wizard Rings are really fantastic. Compared to the previous episodes, it's not a chore a watch and it gets you excited on what combos they will pull off next. Lastly is the ending of the episode, it confirms the fact that Koyomi is somewhat related to the Gate. If the flashback scene is the basis, it can be simply summed up as Koyomi is the girl that gave the Gate hope. But the bigger question is why Koyomi is clueless about it?

Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger 20 – Dangerous Wish

You... I like you.

It's Tanabata and all of us have our own wishes. This is when the MOTW comes in, he fulfills the wish but in exchange he will get someone's life energy until s/he dies! All of the Kyoryugers signed his wish cards except for King as his wish is to meet his father again. Will he finally meet his father again after all these years?

It's another episode focused on King and this time around, it is about his desire to meet his father again, something that was partly brought up in the 2nd part of the KyoryuGrey arc. Unlike the said episode wherein he just met him in an illusion, this time around he meets him for real and by the looks of it, he even advanced the plot for a bit. But before talking about it, let's first talk about the Tanabata stuff.

The wishes of our heroes for Tanabata less King's are more on the self part. One thing I notice about their wishes is that they are something an average kid will ask in Tanabata and not something an adult or a teenager will ask... except for Ian and Nossan's since their wishes is something I expect them to wish. I mean, Utchy wishing for ice cream? I know he likes it but man, I was expecting something more than that! But hey, that's his wish and what's more, we learned that Ramirez is quite a bro in a way that he just left Belgium just to give them ice cream!

Because of their wishes getting fulfilled one by one, the number of active members of the team decreased, giving our heroes a hard time facing an enemy that they can easily defeat if they are together. With only a few rangers to handle him, the task of looking for the MOTW becomes tougher. This is when King starts to shine on his own. After Nossan's wish of having girls flock around him because hey, he is near in his 30's and needs to settle down, he used this opportunity to find the MOTW thanks to Nossan's wish card flying towards him.

With only King facing Canderrilla, Luckyuro and the MOTW, he is overpowered by this group and to make matters worse, he only has till dawn to save everyone! This is when King's dad comes in and did something badass. He just uses some cool spirit punch move then King performs a punch move to destroy the container where the cards are! After this, we have a scene featuring King's dad talking to him. The scene was just okay, it's not really emotional but the look on King's face after seeing his father is really priceless. King is like a kid receiving a really cool Christmas from someone he didn't expect that will give something to him.

More on the meeting, I can't help but notice that his teammates can't see King's dad. What's more is that later in the episode, we see him meet Torin and hand him a bag filled with items that might be relevant in later episodes. Considering that there are hints that King's dad is walking the same path like he is, guess you can theorize that King's dad is either a Kyoryuger or a guy related to these electric dinosaurs some point in his life considering his connection with Torin. Because we only have vague clues about their relationship, guess I should stop overthinking about it for now.

The final fight in this episode is really cool; aside that we see Fang Shot and Lanshield Slasher in again, the MOTW's move set is really creative. Using his own wish making powers in battle is really interesting and the drawback in using it made sense overall. As for the giant fight, aside from Utchy aiding them while Kyoryuzin Kung-Fu is fighting in the ground, there is nothing worth talking about. Seriously, if the two combined to form Raiden Kyoryuzin Kung-Fu or something, then I will become much more interested in the giant fights.

At the end, King got his wish of meeting his father in Tanabata, Torin has a bag filled with future plot development related to King's dad and that King's friends are wondering why he is really happy, causing me to theorize that King's dad is dead and that he is now a spirit that will aid the Kyoryugers later in the series. By aide, I mean, he is a Kyoryuger.
